There Are 4 Different Ways You Can Celebrate America’s Independence Day

So you are thinking, “How am I going to celebrate the Independence Day?” Well, there are certainly a lot of ways you can observe the 4th of July. Let us take a look at what these are and why each worth the try.

These options are good to go when you choose to stay home on the day of celebration. And there are quite a few options you can do to effectively respect the observance of independence.

1. Read the history

You could either take advantage of the internet to get a copy of the coverage before, during and after the time our independence is declared, or grab a good book about detailing how we got our independence. If you have kids, read it to them. Alternatively, you could also get the Declaration of Independence copy and read it. This will allow you to remember how we once fought and why it’s worth fighting each and every time.

2. Watch American films that relates to Independence Day

There are a couple of good titles to consider if you want to celebrate this way, including but are not limited to Independence Day (1996), The Patriot (2000), The Sandlot (1993), Born on the Fourth of July (1989), 1776 (1972) and All the President’s Men (1976). If you want a more modern film option, then watch Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). It mirrors the national pride and self-sacrifice during World War II. Better spent with family and a bunch of popcorns.

If you prefer to celebrate away from your home though, there are some good options, too.

1. Either join or watch a parade

Parades can be fun to either join or watch. The local community you belong to is probably planning for a good parade on the 4th, so why not get involved if you can, or be prepared about watching it on the side by dressing up patriotically. Don’t forget to feel it, wave on to other people as the parade goes on or clap/salute as veterans pass by. And since you’d be outside, don’t forget to put on sunscreen, wear a hat, and bring water and a folding chair if necessary.

2. Feast with family and friends

You could also take advantage of the celebration by getting your family together and have friends join in for a picnic. 4th of July is usually observed with the following food on the table: hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon and American flag cake. But, of course, you are most welcome to add in your special recipe. You can choose to cook your food outside your house or eat out together to your favorite restaurant or where there’s an irresistible 4th of July special, like in Lago Mediterranean and Latin Fusion Restaurant and Bar in Doral, Florida where you get to enjoy La Gran Parrillada menu specials.
